Backend Developer / Analytics Engineer in the field of Digital Analytics

What awaits you!

As part of the Analytics team, you will work in an agile feature team and interact closely with your colleagues from the frontend and backend.

  • Building a modern analytics/data pipeline
  • Provide clean and structured data to users of dashboards and BI tools (e.g. Tableau) as well as internal services such as recommendation engines, searches, etc.
  • Contribute to the design of our data infrastructure and analytics workflows
  • Preparation of data using ETL/ELT from various sources (tracking and catalog data) into a form suitable for analyses
  • Ensure high data quality through thorough testing and proven software engineering methods
  • Assist in the creation of analyses, reports and dashboards, and data-driven product development
  • Joint responsibility for the operation of our databases and services on AWS

What you bring with you!

  • Successfully completed studies in computer science, mathematics, physics, computer/data science or a comparable qualification
  • Work experience of two years would be an advantage
  • An analytical and data-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for numbers and metrics
  • Enjoy generating, preparing and merging large amounts of data from diverse data sources
  • First experience in building an analytics stack or ETL/ELT: e.g. with Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Databricks, Apache Spark, dbt.
  • Very good knowledge in:
    • Kotlin/Java (krangl, kmath, kotlin-statistics, lets-plot)
    • Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib)
    • Test Driven Development, CI/CD (Gitlab)
  • Dealing with databases: noSQL (MongoDB, neo4j) and SQL (postgreSQL)
  • Other experience would be an advantage:
    • Tracking with Snowplow Analytics
    • Google Analytics (UA and 4), Google Tag Manager
    • ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
    • Data visualization tools/BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI
    • Kubernetes and Terraform
    • Machine Learning with e.g. Tensorflow, Keras, Pytorch
  • Independent and solution-oriented work
  • Curiosity to learn about new topics, methods and tools
  • Fluent German as well as spoken and written English
